Shelly Fetchen DiCesaro, PhD, ATC, CSCS

Shelly is currently a professor and certified athletic trainer at California University of Pennsylvania. She received her undergraduate degree in athletic training from California University of Pennsylvania, a Master's degree in clinical exercise physiology from The George Washington University and her Doctoral degree exercise physiology with an emphasis on biomechanics and sports medicine from the University of Pittsburgh. She has presented papers and her research at numerous national and international conferences and had the fortunate opportunity to work with international track and field athletes as a certified athletic trainer during the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta. Her research focus's primarily on pediatric sports medicine, biomechanics and female ACL injuries. She holds certifications from the National Athletic Trainers Association as a certified athletic trainer, the National Strength and Conditioning Association as a strength and conditioning specialist and the American College of Sports Medicine as a health fitness instructor. Shelly serves her profession through numerous activities including; chair of the Pennsylvania Athletic Trainer Society Ethics committee, a manuscript reviewer for the Journal of Athletic Training and Athletic Therapy Today and as an external reviewer for the National Athletic Trainers Association’s position statement for pediatric overuse injuries.
