Chiropractic is a health care profession and most popular form of CAM, or complementary and alternative medicine. Chiropractic focuses on disorders of the musculoskeletal system and nervous system and the effects these disorders may have on a persons general health. Most often, people seek the help of a chiropractor for treatment of neuro-musculoskeletal complaints, including back, neck and joint pain as well as headaches. Additionally, chiropractic care has been shown to be beneficial to people suffering from allergies and asthma, chronic ear infections in children and depression. Chiropractic care is safe for relatively healthy people of all ages including children and pregnant women. Our office mixes traditional chiropractic care, such as spinal manipulations, with additional modalities including ultrasound, electrical stimulation and hydrotherapy. Additionally, we offer gait evaluation and rehabilitation for individuals whose pain stems from a biomechanical misalignment in the lower body. For more information on chiropractic care, please visit our FAQ's or Links webpage. Rehabilitation
Chiropractic rehabilitation focuses on the strengthening and stretching of the body's core. Pain and fatigue are a result of a muscle imbalance which can be corrected through proper restorative rehabilitation. Additionally, through the use of our unweighting treadmill we are able to initiate weight and partial weight bearing rehabilitation earlier, often as soon as a person can tolerate a minimal amount of weight. Our office uses multiple types of equipment and techniques including traditional strength training, stability balls, free weights, freemotion fitness, vibration, unweighting and balance training. Chiropractic is reimbursable by some third party insurances and this will be verified at the time of your visit if it appears you are a candidate for rehabilitation or you have come to the office for rehabilitation at the suggestion of a medical physician.
